So, I changed the gallery. The one before looked good, but in IE 7 the links were totally broken. Overall it was just overdone with all the JavaScript and stuff, so I changed to something
simpler. (Which I like!)
Anyways, enjoy the new gallery. Hopefully it'll work better for you!
As we approach the launch of Windows Vista this January, I just thought I'd let you know that analyst expect Microsoft to spend an outrageous amount of money promoting it. Most of you know
that Win 2K/Win95 are my most favorite versions of Windows, and as you probably don't recall (you were 3-4 years old) Windows 95 had a huge launch with millions spent promoting it. First off, there's a
couple of videos on YouTube from those days, most noticeable this one:
What I found hilarious was the Compaq 486 that get's flashed for a second which I used to own.
Of course, there were also some who hated of Windows 95. Like this video:
(even more hilarious if you know the real songs)
Now, the question is, even with all this money that Microsoft will be putting into promote Vista, will we really end up with some cool videos like this one that will be a memory of my childhood
for as long as I live:
Or, will we end up with a ad's like this one, still featuring that common Flying Around theme. I noticed that it showed a lot of features in XP that don't actually work. Send photo's by email? As
if. Windows Movie Maker 1 (also shown) was a nightmare, and when they did update it, old projects weren't compatible.
Either way, please Microsoft, don't use Madonna songs in your commercials.
In their recent flyer they had a Grand Opening sale, and one of the items was a 400W Power Inverter. Basically it converts your car"'s 12V socket or from a 12V Car battery into useful
household current for your laptop or pretty much anything else. They normally cost $59, but they were selling them on sale for $19.99.
Arriving at Canadian Tire they had the 400W model for $59! Nowhere did it mention anything about $19.99 but sure enough when I brought it to the till it was on sale. So score uber cheap inverter,
I"ve been working away at my blogging system, and it is now much more reliable. Occasionally the Atom feed would crap out and what not, but I"'ve switched the way I store the data
so it should work much better now.
Also, you may have noticed the new photos in the MacBook section. I"'ve made a sweet laptop sleeve for it and it"'s very excellent.
Just in case you're wondering where the new photos are, they're coming! I've been pretty busy working and doing other things, but the snow has fallen here in Edmonton, and I look forward
to taking some pictures in our Winter Wonderland.
I'm hoping for those NiMH Batteries for Christmas that can be charged in 15 minutes, which might encourage me a bit more to go shooting. A
lot of times my batteries are dead when I want to go out, so perhaps that will get the photo-taking desires going again!
